Learning Targets:

I CAN identify poetic devices. 

I CAN use prefixes and suffixes to create words and determine their meaning. 

 

Word Work: The students will be create words using prefixes and suffixes to deepen their understanding of words. 

 

Guided Reading: The students will have small group instruction with me daily. We will working on ppoetic devices and fluency. We are still working on student's individual goals. 

 

Literature Circles: The students will be their Literature Circles this week. The students had a choice of the novel that they will be reading with their peers. The students will be meeting in their Literature Circle weekly to discuss the novel. The discussions will be student led and they will work on reading skills to gain a deeper understanding of the text. Students will be reading Wednesday Wars, Hatchet, M.C. Higgins and My Side of the Mountain. 

 

Independent Reading: The students will be reading finish reading Bud, Not Buddy and take a quiz over the novel.
